Preparation

  1. 1.
Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions.
  2. 2.
In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and pour the vinegar mixture over it. Gently fold the rice to evenly distribute the vinegar mixture. Let the rice cool to room temperature.
  3. 3.
Slice the yellowtail fish into thin pieces, about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. 4.
Take a small amount of sushi rice and shape it into a rectangular mound using wet hands. Place a slice of yellowtail on top of the rice, gently pressing it to adhere.
  5. 5.
Repeat the process with the remaining rice and yellowtail slices.
  6. 6.
Serve the Buri Nigiri Sushi with a side of wasabi and soy sauce.

Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Yellowtail fish — Ensure the fish is fresh and of high quality. If you can't find yellowtail, you can substitute it with other white fish such as sea bass or snapper.

Tips & Tricks

  • Wetting your hands with water before shaping the sushi rice will prevent it from sticking to your hands.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice the yellowtail fish for clean and precise cuts.
  • Experiment with different amounts of wasabi to find your preferred level of spiciness.
  • Serve the sushi immediately after preparation to enjoy the best texture and flavor.
  • Feel free to garnish the sushi with thinly sliced scallions or sesame seeds for added visual appeal.
