Treat your ingredients with care...
- Pork belly — For a leaner option, you can use pork loin instead of pork belly. However, keep in mind that pork belly adds richness and flavor to the dish.
- Shiitake mushrooms — If fresh shiitake mushrooms are not available, you can use dried shiitake mushrooms. Soak them in hot water for 20 minutes before slicing and adding to the dish.
Tips & Tricks
- To enhance the flavors, marinate the pork belly overnight for a more intense taste.
- For a spicier kick, add a small amount of chili paste or chili oil to the dish.
- If you prefer a thicker broth, mix a little cornstarch with water and add it to the simmering Chhài-pó͘-nn̄g.
