Treat your ingredients with care...
- Beef sirloin — Choose thinly sliced beef sirloin for easier rolling and quicker cooking.
- Bacon — Opt for smoky bacon to add an extra depth of flavor to the filling.
- Mushrooms — Use a mix of different mushrooms like cremini, shiitake, and button mushrooms for a more complex flavor in the sauce.
Tips & Tricks
- To make the beef rolls easier to roll and secure, slightly pound the beef slices with a meat mallet before adding the filling.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with a little water and add it to the sauce during the simmering process.
- Serve the Kruchenyky with a side of mashed potatoes or buttered noodles to complement the flavors.
Serving advice
Serve the Kruchenyky hot, spooning the mushroom sauce generously over the beef rolls. Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or dill for an added touch of freshness.
Presentation advice
Arrange the Kruchenyky on a platter, placing them side by side with the mushroom sauce drizzled over them. Sprinkle some chopped fresh herbs on top for a pop of color.
