Preparation

1.Rinse the short-grain rice, glutinous rice, barley, millet, black beans, and red beans under cold water.

2.Soak the grains and beans in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.

3.Drain the soaked grains and beans.

4.In a rice cooker or a pot, combine the drained grains and beans with 3 cups (710ml) of water.

5.Cook the mixture according to the rice cooker's instructions or bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes until the grains are tender.

6.Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and let it rest for 5 minutes.

7.In a small bowl, mix the salt and sesame oil together.

8.Drizzle the salted sesame oil over the cooked rice and gently mix to evenly distribute the flavors.
