The traditional Polish dish is transformed by adding a spicy filling made with ground beef, onions, garlic, and New Mexican spices. Preparation

1.In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes and flour. Knead until a smooth dough forms.

2.In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, and sauté until translucent.

3.Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned. Stir in the cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

4.Take a small portion of the potato dough and flatten it in your hand. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center and fold the dough over to seal the filling. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.

5.Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until they float to the surface.

6.In a separate saucepan, heat the tomato sauce over low heat until warmed through.
