Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Pork shoulder — Choose a well-marbled cut of pork shoulder for the juiciest and most flavorful porchetta.
  • Fennel seeds — Toasting the fennel seeds before using them will enhance their aroma and flavor.
  • Italian bread rolls — Look for crusty Italian rolls with a soft interior to perfectly complement the porchetta.

Tips & Tricks

  • For extra flavor, marinate the pork shoulder overnight in the refrigerator.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • To achieve a crispy skin on the porchetta, increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F) for the last 15 minutes of roasting.
  • Leftover porchetta can be refrigerated and enjoyed cold or reheated for another meal.
  • Serve the Panino con la porchetta with a side of pickles or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
