Ingredients
In this adaptation, we have taken the Louisiana Creole technique of grilling fish and infused it with the flavors of Serbian cuisine. The original dish, Pwason boukannen, is typically seasoned with Cajun spices and served with a spicy Creole sauce. In our Serbian adaptation, we have replaced the Cajun spices with Serbian spices such as paprika and garlic, and substituted the Creole sauce with ajvar, a traditional Serbian spread made from roasted red peppers and eggplant. These changes give the dish a unique Serbian twist while still retaining the essence of the original grilled fish. We alse have the original recipe for Pwason boukannen, so you can check it out.
