Treat your ingredients with care...
- Rolled oats — Use traditional rolled oats for the best texture. Avoid using instant oats as they are too fine and can affect the biscuit's texture.
- Golden syrup — If golden syrup is not available, you can substitute it with an equal amount of honey or maple syrup.
- Macadamia nuts — The addition of macadamia nuts provides a delightful crunch and nutty flavor. However, if you prefer a nut-free version, simply omit them from the recipe.
Tips & Tricks
- For a chewier texture, slightly underbake the biscuits and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet.
- Experiment with different types of nuts, such as almonds or pecans, for a unique twist on the recipe.
- Store the Anzac Biscuits in an airtight container to maintain their freshness and crispness.
- Serve the biscuits with a cup of tea or coffee for a perfect afternoon treat.
- These biscuits make a wonderful homemade gift. Package them in a decorative tin or jar for a thoughtful present.
