Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Beef, lamb, and pork — For the best results, choose stew meat that is well-marbled and has some fat. This will ensure the meat becomes tender and adds flavor to the stew.

Tips & Tricks

  • To add a smoky flavor, you can include a small amount of smoked paprika in the seasoning.
  • If you prefer a thicker stew, you can mix a tablespoon of flour with some water and add it to the pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • Feel free to customize the vegetables based on your preference and seasonal availability.

Serving advice

Bosanski lonac is traditionally served as a main course. It pairs well with a side of crusty bread or cornbread to soak up the flavorful broth. Serve the stew hot and garnish each bowl with fresh parsley for a pop of color.

Presentation advice

When serving Bosnian Pot Stew, present it in a large, deep bowl to showcase the layers of meats and vegetables. The vibrant colors of the ingredients will make the dish visually appealing. Consider placing a sprig of fresh parsley on top as a final touch.
