Treat your ingredients with care...
- Beef — For a more tender result, slice the beef against the grain.
- Thai bird's eye chilies — Adjust the amount of chilies according to your spice preference. Remove the seeds for a milder heat.
- Toasted rice powder — To make toasted rice powder, simply toast uncooked rice in a dry skillet until golden brown, then grind it into a fine powder using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra burst of flavor, add a squeeze of fresh lime juice over the salad before serving.
- If you prefer a milder salad, remove the seeds from the Thai bird's eye chilies.
- To make the salad more filling, serve it with a side of steamed jasmine rice.
- Customize the salad by adding thinly sliced red bell peppers or bean sprouts for extra crunch.
- If you can't find palm sugar, substitute it with brown sugar or honey.
