Treat your ingredients with care...
- Beef stew meat — For the best results, choose a tender cut of beef such as chuck or round. Trim any excess fat before cubing the meat.
- Diced tomatoes — If you prefer a smoother consistency, you can use crushed tomatoes instead of diced tomatoes.
- Fresh cilantro — Add the cilantro just before serving to preserve its vibrant flavor.
Tips & Tricks
- For a smoky flavor, you can add a chipotle pepper in adobo sauce to the stew.
- If you prefer a thicker stew, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir it into the stew during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Feel free to customize the vegetables according to your preference. You can add zucchini, green beans, or peas for additional variety.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for future enjoyment.
- To save time, you can prepare the ingredients the night before and refrigerate them in separate containers. In the morning, simply combine everything in the slow cooker and let it cook throughout the day.
