- Liver spread — If you're unable to find liver spread, you can substitute it with pâté or a small amount of liver pâté mixed with cream cheese for a similar flavor and texture.
Tips & Tricks
- For a milder version, reduce the amount of spicy chili peppers or remove the seeds before adding them to the dish.
- Allow the stew to simmer for a longer time for even more tender beef.
- Serve the Kaldereta with a side of pickled vegetables to balance the richness of the dish.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and taste even better the next day as the flavors meld together.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with water and add it to the stew during the last few minutes of cooking.
Serving advice
Serve the Kaldereta hot with steamed rice to soak up the flavorful sauce. Garnish with grated cheese and fresh cilantro for added richness and freshness.
Presentation advice
Present the Kaldereta in a deep serving dish, allowing the vibrant colors of the bell peppers and chili peppers to shine through. Sprinkle some grated cheese and fresh cilantro on top for an enticing visual appeal.
