Preparation

1.In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the yeast becomes frothy.
-
2.In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter, and yogurt.
-
3.Mix the ingredients together until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
-
4.Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
-
5.Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
6.Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 4 equal portions. Roll out each portion into a thin rectangle.
-
7.Brush melted butter over the first rectangle and place the second rectangle on top. Repeat this process with the remaining rectangles, stacking them on top of each other.
-
8.Cut the stacked dough into squares or triangles and transfer them to the prepared baking sheet.
-
9.Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
-
10.Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
