1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.

2.In a saucepan, combine the maple syrup and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.
