1.In a bowl, soak the dried apricots in water overnight.

2.In a saucepan, combine the soaked apricots along with the water they were soaked in.

3.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the apricots are soft and tender.

4.Add sugar and lemon juice to the saucepan and stir well until the sugar is dissolved.

5.Continue to simmer for another 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens and forms a compote-like consistency.

6.Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.

7.Once cooled, transfer the compote to serving bowls and garnish with slivered almonds.
