Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Saltfish — Make sure to boil the saltfish before flaking it. This removes excess salt and rehydrates the fish. Taste the saltfish after boiling to ensure it is not overly salty. Adjust the boiling time accordingly.

Tips & Tricks

  • If you can't find fresh ackee, you can use canned ackee as a substitute. Just make sure to drain and rinse it well before using.
  • Adjust the amount of jerk seasoning according to your spice preference. Add more for a spicier kick or reduce it for a milder flavor.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings by adding other ingredients such as sliced jalapenos or pineapple for a tropical twist.
  • For a crispier crust, pre-bake the pizza crust for a few minutes before adding the toppings.
  • Leftover pizza can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.

Serving advice

Serve the Ackee and Saltfish Pizza hot, straight from the oven. Cut it into slices and serve as a main course or as part of a Caribbean-themed meal. This pizza pairs well with a side of fresh salad or coleslaw.

Presentation advice

To enhance the presentation, garnish the pizza with fresh cilantro leaves and a sprinkle of jerk seasoning. The vibrant colors of the bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes will add visual appeal to the dish.
