Treat your ingredients with care...
- Breadcrumbs — For the best texture, use fresh breadcrumbs made from day-old bread. You can make them by pulsing bread slices in a food processor until finely crumbled.
Tips & Tricks
- To make the sauce even creamier, you can add a splash of heavy cream at the end of cooking.
- For a more pronounced flavor, toast the breadcrumbs lightly in a dry pan before adding them to the sauce.
- If you prefer a smoother texture, you can strain the sauce through a fine-mesh sieve before serving.
- Experiment with different herbs such as thyme or rosemary to add a unique twist to the sauce.
- Leftover bread sauce can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
