Ingredients

In the original Italian dish, Fichi mandorlati, the figs are typically stuffed with a mixture of almonds, sugar, and cocoa powder. However, in this Basque adaptation, we replace the cocoa powder with aromatic spices to enhance the unique flavor profile of Basque cuisine. Additionally, we use local Basque honey to add a touch of sweetness and highlight the regional ingredients. We alse have the original recipe for Fichi mandorlati, so you can check it out.
