-
2.In a separate small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
-
3.Add the yeast mixture, softened Mecklenburg butter, vanilla extract, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
-
4.Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

-
12.Dip each donut into the glaze, allowing the excess to drip off, and place them on a wire rack to set.
Treat your ingredients with care...
- Mecklenburg wheat flour — The use of Mecklenburg wheat flour gives these donuts a unique flavor and texture. If you can't find it, you can substitute with all-purpose flour, but the result may be slightly different.
- Mecklenburg honey — The Mecklenburg honey adds a delicate floral sweetness to the glaze. If you don't have Mecklenburg honey, you can use any local honey with a mild flavor.
Tips & Tricks
- To achieve fluffy donuts, make sure the dough rises properly. Find a warm spot in your kitchen for the dough to double in size.
- When frying the donuts, maintain a consistent oil temperature to ensure even cooking and a golden exterior.
- For a twist, you can add a pinch of Mecklenburg cardamom to the dough for a subtle aromatic flavor.
- If you prefer a thicker glaze, add more powdered sugar. For a thinner glaze, add more milk.
- These donuts are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store them in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat them in the oven for a few minutes before serving.
Serving advice
