Treat your ingredients with care...
- Beef — For the most tender results, choose a cut of beef suitable for slow cooking, such as chuck or brisket. Trim any excess fat before cubing.
- Berber spices — Feel free to adjust the spice levels according to your preference. Add more cayenne pepper for extra heat or reduce it for a milder flavor.
- Rice — Rinse the rice thoroughly before cooking to remove excess starch and achieve fluffy grains.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra burst of flavor, marinate the beef in the spice mixture overnight before cooking.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can remove the beef and rice from the pot once cooked, then simmer the remaining liquid until it reduces to your desired consistency.
- Serve the dish with a side of traditional Berber bread to soak up the delicious flavors.
