Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Lentils — Make sure to rinse the lentils thoroughly before cooking to remove any debris or impurities.
  • Diced tomatoes — Opt for canned diced tomatoes for convenience, but you can also use fresh tomatoes if preferred. If using fresh tomatoes, peel and dice them before adding to the stew.

Tips & Tricks

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of red wine to the stew while it simmers.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, you can partially blend the stew using an immersion blender before serving.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and can be reheated on the stovetop or in the microwave.

Serving advice

Serve the Italian Lentil Stew as a main course, accompanied by crusty bread to soak up the flavorful broth. It pairs well with a fresh green salad on the side.
