Ingredients
In this Canadian Chinese adaptation of Modak, we incorporate Canadian flavors by using maple syrup in the dough and as a finishing touch. The filling remains true to the original recipe, with coconut, jaggery, and crushed peanuts. The dumplings are steamed, just like the traditional Modak, but the addition of maple syrup and sesame oil gives them a unique flavor profile. 1.In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, maple syrup, and sesame oil. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and pliable.

3.Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it into a circle. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of the circle.
