Sayadieh
To make sayadieh, start by cooking rice and fish separately. Sauté onions and garlic in olive oil. Add spices and tomato paste and cook for a few minutes. Add water and bring to a boil. Add the cooked rice and fish and simmer until the liquid is absorbed. Serve hot.
Origins and history
Sayadieh is a traditional Lebanese dish that originated in the coastal regions of Lebanon. It was first mentioned in a cookbook in the early 1900s.
