Treat your ingredients with care...
- Dried fish (daing) — Make sure to marinate the fish for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate. Adjust the marinating time based on the thickness of the fish.
- Garlic — Use fresh garlic for the best flavor. Mince it finely to evenly distribute the garlic flavor throughout the dish.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra kick of flavor, add a squeeze of calamansi or lemon juice over the daingsilog before eating.
- If you prefer a spicier version, you can add chopped chili peppers to the garlic fried rice.
- To make the dish more visually appealing, garnish with chopped spring onions or fried garlic on top.
- If dried fish is not available, you can substitute it with fresh fish fillets marinated in the same mixture.
- To save time, you can marinate the fish overnight in the refrigerator for a more intense flavor.
