Preparation

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a rectangular baking dish.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, butter, sugar, egg yolk, and salt. Mix until the dough comes together and forms a ball.

3.Divide the dough into four equal parts. Roll out one portion and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the first layer.

5.In a saucepan, combine the ground walnuts, sugar, milk, and cinnamon for the walnut filling. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

7.In another saucepan, combine the ground poppy seeds, sugar, and milk for the poppy seed filling. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

8.Spread the poppy seed filling over the walnut filling.

9.Roll out the remaining dough portions and place them on top of the poppy seed filling, forming the final layer.

10.Brush the top layer with beaten egg white.

11.Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown.
