1.In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, dark soy sauce, rice wine, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, five-spice powder, cinnamon stick, and star anise.

2.Place the pork belly in the bowl and coat it thoroughly with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

3.Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Remove the pork belly from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later use.

4.Sear the pork belly in the pot until browned on all sides.

5.Pour the reserved marinade and chicken broth into the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the pork belly is tender and the flavors have melded together.

6.Remove the pork belly from the pot and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice it into thick pieces.
