Treat your ingredients with care...
- Avocado — Choose ripe avocados that are slightly soft to the touch. To prevent browning, squeeze some lemon or lime juice over the sliced avocado.
- Pickled jalapeños — If you prefer a milder flavor, you can rinse the pickled jalapeños before using them in the recipe to reduce their spiciness.
- Bolillo rolls — If you can't find bolillo rolls, you can substitute them with soft hamburger buns or any other type of bread roll you prefer.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra burst of flavor, you can add a slice of melted cheese on top of the beef patty.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, you can add some sliced fresh jalapeños to the sandwich.
- To make the chipotle mayo more smoky, you can add a pinch of smoked paprika.
- Customize your Tortas Hamburguesas by adding other toppings such as grilled onions, sliced bell peppers, or even a fried egg.
- Serve the sandwiches with a side of Mexican rice and refried beans for a complete meal.
