Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Pineapple — Make sure to use fresh pineapple for the best flavor. If using canned pineapple, drain it well before adding to the batter.
  • Passion fruit juice — If fresh passion fruits are not available, you can use store-bought passion fruit juice. Make sure it is pure juice without any added sugar.

Tips & Tricks

  • For an extra tropical touch, you can top the cake with a drizzle of passion fruit glaze or a sprinkle of toasted coconut.
  • If you prefer a stronger cinnamon flavor, you can increase the amount of ground cinnamon to 1 1/2 teaspoons.
  • Serve the cake slightly warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert experience.
  • To make the cake more festive, you can decorate it with edible flowers or tropical fruit slices.
  • If you don't have buttermilk, you can make a substitute by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of milk and letting it sit for 5 minutes.
