- Carrot — Make sure to grate the carrot finely to ensure it cooks evenly within the fritters.
- Cabbage — Shred the cabbage thinly to add a delicate crunch to the fritters.
- Green chilies — Adjust the amount of green chilies according to your spice preference. For a milder version, remove the seeds before chopping.
- Fresh cilantro — Use fresh cilantro for its vibrant flavor. If you're not a fan of cilantro, you can substitute it with fresh parsley.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the batter.
- Serve the fritters with a side of tangy tamarind chutney for a burst of flavor.
- Experiment with different vegetables such as zucchini or bell peppers for added variety.
- To make the fritters gluten-free, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
- If you prefer a lighter version, you can bake the fritters in the oven instead of frying them. Simply drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a greased baking sheet and bake at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
