While the French Beef Bourguignon traditionally uses red wine as a key ingredient, our Bosnian adaptation incorporates a local red wine, giving it a unique twist. Preparation

1.Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).

2.In a large oven-safe pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.

3.Add the bacon and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside.

4.In the same pot, add the beef chunks and brown them on all sides. Remove the beef and set aside.

5.Add the onions, carrots, and garlic to the pot. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.

6.Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir well to coat.

7.Return the beef and bacon to the pot. Pour in the red wine and beef broth.

8.Stir in the tomato paste, bay leaves, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper.

9.Cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven.

10.Let it cook for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the beef is tender.

11.Remove the pot from the oven and skim off any excess fat from the surface.

12.Serve the Bosnian-style Beef Bourguignon hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
