Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Black Sesame Seeds — Make sure to use roasted black sesame seeds for a more intense flavor. You can roast them yourself by heating them in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant and slightly golden.
  • Coconut Milk — Use full-fat coconut milk for a creamier texture. Shake the can well before using to ensure the cream and liquid are well combined.

Tips & Tricks

  • For a smoother texture, strain the soup through a fine-mesh sieve before serving.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less rock sugar according to your preference.
  • If you prefer a thicker consistency, mix cornstarch with water and add it gradually to the soup while stirring continuously until desired thickness is achieved.
  • Garnish with a drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of crushed roasted peanuts for added flavor and texture.
  • Leftover soup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop before serving.
