1.In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in warm milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

3.Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, and honey. Mix until a sticky dough forms.

4.Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5.Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

6.Punch down the dough and knead in the raisins, currants, candied orange peel, and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed.
