Preparation

1.In a large pan, heat some vegetable oil and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until golden brown.

2.Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

3.Stir in the ground nutmeg, ground coriander, ground galangal, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the spices are well incorporated.

4.Remove the beef mixture from the heat and let it cool.

5.In a mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour, rice flour, water, and vegetable oil. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic.

6.Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin, circular sheet.

7.Place a spoonful of the beef filling onto one half of the dough circle and fold the other half over to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges firmly to seal the burek.

8.Repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling.

9.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

10.Place the burek on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry turns golden brown.
