1.In a large bowl, combine the grated yam, ground peanuts, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2.Shape the mixture into small fritters, about the size of a golf ball, and flatten slightly.

3.Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the fritters in batches until golden brown and crispy on both sides, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.

4.Remove the fritters from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
