3.Drain and rinse the soaked black beans. Add them to the pot along with the bay leaf, smoked paprika, cumin powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.

4.Pour in the vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for about 1 hour or until the beans are tender.
