Preparation

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, ground almonds, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3.Add the cold cubed butter to the dry ingredients and use your fingertips or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
