Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Jasmine rice — Rinse the rice thoroughly to remove excess starch before cooking.
  • Coconut milk — Shake the can well before using to ensure the cream and liquid are well combined.
  • Toasted sesame seeds — Keep an eye on the seeds while toasting to prevent burning. Stir frequently for even toasting.

Tips & Tricks

  • For a creamier texture, use full-fat coconut milk.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your preference.
  • Feel free to add other tropical fruits like papaya or passion fruit for additional flavors.
  • If you prefer a stronger savory flavor, increase the amount of soy sauce.
  • To make it more indulgent, top the dish with a dollop of whipped cream or coconut cream.
