Ingredients

While the original Mexican guacamole is traditionally made with lime juice, cilantro, and jalapenos, our Bavarian adaptation incorporates ingredients commonly found in Bavarian cuisine. We substitute lime juice with apple cider vinegar, cilantro with parsley, and jalapenos with mild Bavarian peppers. These changes infuse the guacamole with a distinct Bavarian flavor profile. We alse have the original recipe for Guacamole, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Avocados — Choose ripe avocados that yield to gentle pressure when squeezed. If they are not ripe enough, place them in a paper bag for a day or two to speed up the ripening process.
  • Bavarian pepper — If you can't find Bavarian peppers, you can substitute them with mild banana peppers or Hungarian wax peppers.
  • Apple cider vinegar — Make sure to use unfiltered apple cider vinegar for a more authentic Bavarian flavor.

Tips & Tricks

  • For a creamier texture, blend half of the avocado with the apple cider vinegar before adding the remaining ingredients.
  • Adjust the amount of Bavarian pepper according to your desired level of spiciness.
  • Serve the Bavarian Guacamole with traditional Bavarian pretzels or crispy breadsticks for an authentic touch.
  • Add a dash of Bavarian mustard for an extra kick of flavor.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika or chopped chives for a colorful presentation.
