Preparation

  1. 1.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, eggs, water, parsley, dill, salt, and black pepper. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
  2. 2.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch (0.6cm). Cut the dough into small squares, approximately 1 inch (2.5cm) in size.
  3. 3.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook until they float to the surface, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the cooked dumplings with a slotted spoon and set aside.
  4. 4.
In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  5. 5.
Add the diced tomatoes, vegetable broth, paprika, salt, and pepper to the pan. Simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  6. 6.
Pour the sauce over the cooked Krapci and gently toss to coat.
  7. 7.
Serve the Krapci hot, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired.

Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Flour — Use all-purpose flour for the best texture and consistency of the dumplings.
  • Fresh herbs — Make sure to finely chop the parsley and dill to evenly distribute their flavors throughout the dough.

Tips & Tricks
