The original recipe uses a variety of fillings, including chocolate, honey, and dried fruits, whereas our Bhojpuri version focuses on a nut-filled filling with aromatic spices. Preparation

1.In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.

3.Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

4.In the meantime, prepare the filling by combining the chopped nuts, sugar, cardamom, and cinnamon in a bowl.

5.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a round baking pan.

6.Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangular shape on a floured surface.

7.Brush the melted ghee over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

8.Spread the nut filling evenly over the dough, pressing it gently.

9.Starting from one of the longer sides, carefully roll the dough into a tight log.

10.Transfer the rolled dough to the greased baking pan, tucking the ends underneath to seal.

11.Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

12.Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
