Treat your ingredients with care...
- Ground pork — Make sure to use lean ground pork for a healthier option. If desired, you can substitute it with ground chicken or beef.
- Chinese five-spice powder — If you don't have Chinese five-spice powder, you can make your own by combining equal parts ground cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds, star anise, and Szechuan peppercorns.
Tips & Tricks
- For extra flavor, marinate the ground pork mixture overnight in the refrigerator before shaping it into patties.
- Add a touch of sweetness by spreading a layer of sweet chili sauce or hoisin sauce on the rice patties before assembling the burger.
- Customize your burger by adding your favorite toppings such as pickles, onions, or a fried egg.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, sprinkle some chili flakes or drizzle hot sauce on the meat patty before assembling the burger.
