Preparation

1.Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.

2.In a large pot, bring the vegetable broth to a boil. Add the rice, cinnamon stick, saffron threads, and cloves. Stir well.

3.Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the rice simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

4.Remove the pot from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.

5.In a separate pan, toast the almonds over medium heat until lightly golden.

6.Fluff the rice with a fork and remove the cinnamon stick and cloves.
