Preparation

1.Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the beef cubes and brown them on all sides. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.
-
2.In the same pot, add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.
-
3.Return the beef to the pot and add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, dried oregano, dried basil, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
-
4.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the beef is tender and the flavors have melded together.
-
5.Remove the bay leaf before serving. Serve the Tapulone hot with your choice of pasta or crusty bread.
Treat your ingredients with care...
- Beef stew meat — For the best results, choose a tender cut of beef such as chuck or round. Trim any excess fat before cubing the meat to ensure a lean and flavorful Tapulone.
Tips & Tricks
- For a richer flavor, marinate the beef cubes in red wine and herbs for a few hours before cooking.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with water and add it to the pot during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and taste even better the next day as the flavors continue to develop.
Serving advice
Serve the Tapulone hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color. Accompany it with a side of crusty bread or your favorite pasta to soak up the delicious sauce.
Presentation advice
Present the Tapulone in a rustic serving dish, allowing the vibrant red sauce and tender beef to take center stage. Sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese on top for an extra touch of indulgence.
