Preparation

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

    In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.

    Add the ground meat to the skillet and cook until browned. Break up any clumps with a wooden spoon.

    Brush a baking dish with olive oil. Place a sheet of phyllo dough in the dish, allowing the edges to hang over the sides. Brush the phyllo sheet with olive oil.

    Repeat the process with 4 more sheets of phyllo dough, layering each sheet and brushing with olive oil.

    Spread the meat mixture evenly over the phyllo dough layers.

    Layer the remaining 5 sheets of phyllo dough on top of the meat mixture, brushing each sheet with olive oil.
