1.Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.

2.In a large saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and cook until they start to sizzle.

3.Add the drained rice to the saucepan and stir well to coat the grains with the oil and cumin seeds.

4.Add the coconut milk, water, coriander powder, paprika, and salt to the saucepan. Stir to combine.

5.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

6.Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
