While the original Viški hib uses specific Croatian spices and herbs, we have replaced them with Pomeranian herbs and spices to enhance the flavors. Preparation

1.Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.

2.Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until they become translucent.

3.Add the beef cubes to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.

4.Stir in the paprika, caraway seeds, and bay leaf, and cook for another minute to release their flavors.

5.Add the diced tomatoes, sliced carrots, and diced bell peppers to the pot. Stir well to combine.

6.Pour enough water into the pot to cover all the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

7.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 1 hour, or until the beef is tender.

8.Add the diced potatoes to the pot and continue simmering for another 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are cooked through.

9.Remove the bay leaf from the pot and adjust the seasoning if needed.

10.Serve the Pomeranian Hib hot, garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
