Preparation

  1. 1.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, instant yeast, and salt.
  2. 2.
Add the warm water gradually while mixing until a dough forms.
  3. 3.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. 4.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. 5.
Punch down the dough and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into a rectangle.
  6. 6.
Spread the minced garlic evenly over the dough, followed by the chopped parsley and thyme leaves.
  7. 7.
Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll the dough into a log shape.
  8. 8.
Place the rolled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. 9.
Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  10. 10.
Using a sharp knife, make diagonal slashes along the top of the baguette.
  11. 11.
Bake the baguette in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. 12.
Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
