Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Ground beef and lamb — Use lean cuts of meat for a healthier option.
  • Breadcrumbs — If you prefer a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or substitute with almond flour.
  • Pita bread — Warm the pita breads on the grill for a minute on each side to enhance their flavor and texture.

Tips & Tricks

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika to the meat mixture.
  • Serve the Ćevapi with a side of ajvar (Balkan roasted red pepper spread) for a delicious combination.
  • If you don't have a grill, you can also cook the Ćevapi on a stovetop grill pan or in the oven under the broiler.
  • Customize your toppings by adding pickles, hot sauce, or your favorite condiments.
  • Leftover Ćevapi can be refrigerated and enjoyed the next day. Simply reheat them in a skillet or microwave before serving.
