Ingredients
In this Assyrian adaptation of the Caribbean Coconut Drop, we incorporate Assyrian flavors and techniques to create a unique twist. While the original recipe uses Caribbean spices and flavors, we infuse the dish with Assyrian spices such as cardamom and cinnamon to add a distinct aroma and taste. Additionally, we replace some of the original ingredients with Assyrian staples like sweetened condensed milk and freshly grated coconut, giving the dessert an authentic Assyrian touch. Preparation

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine the freshly grated coconut, sweetened condensed milk, all-purpose flour, melted butter, ground cardamom, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

3.Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small drops using your hands. Place the drops onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each drop.

4.Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the drops turn golden brown.

5.Remove from the oven and let them cool completely before serving.

- Freshly grated coconut — If you can't find freshly grated coconut, you can use desiccated coconut instead. Soak the desiccated coconut in warm water for 10 minutes before using it in the recipe to rehydrate it slightly.
