Preparation

  1. 1.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, ground cardamom, ground turmeric, salt, and sugar.
  2. 2.
Gradually add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. 3.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. 4.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. 5.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  6. 6.
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal-sized portions. Shape each portion into a round or oval-shaped bread.

Place the shaped bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds generously.
  8. 8.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread turns golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. 9.
Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before serving.
